Unicofer®

Unicofer® is proposed as a source of iron in the bisglycinate form, i.e. chelated: this special pharmaceutical technique maximises iron absorption, avoiding any gastrointestinal problems such as slight indigestion, acid reflux and diarrhoea that are typical of iron supplements. Iron is an essential mineral in the body. Iron mostly derives from your diet. It has many functions: it contributes to a healthy cognitive function, to normal energy metabolism, to the normal formation of red blood cells and of haemoglobin, to the normal transport of oxygen in the body, to a healthy immune system and also reduces tiredness and fatigue. Iron also intervenes in the cell division process. It is essential to keep a constant balance between absorption and daily losses of iron in order to avoid any deficiency. An adequate diet usually makes up for the elimination of iron and keeps an adequate balance (homeostasis).

In children, the daily demand for iron varies according to different physiological conditions, taking account of the needs related to body growth.

Take Unicofer® as is or dissolved in a little water:

• Children under 3: 1.5 ml, equivalent to 7.5 mg of iron
• Children from 3 to 6: 2 ml, equivalent to 10 mg of iron
• Children from 6 to 10: 2.5 ml, equivalent to 12.5 mg of iron
